Kim had just finished her first book draft. While waiting for her coffee, she bumped into Tyler.

Tyler: Hey Kim!
Kim: Hi Tyler, how is it going?
Tyler: Not too bad, you?
Kim: Yeah, all good, a bit nervous about the interview today, but I always get like this.
Tyler: Ahh you got it, don’t worry about it
Kim: Thanks… And hey, have you had a chance to finish reading the draft?
Tyler: Actually, yeah I finished it a couple of days ago
Kim: So? What do you think?
Tyler: I think it’s shit. I think a dictionary is much more entertaining. And at least you learn something.
Kim: Is it that bad?
Tyler: It’s worse than that. The characters feel like robots, the storyline is messy and the kids having superpowers? It doesn’t make any sense!
Kim: But… it’s a fantasy book
Tyler: Even worse! If you can make anything happen, why not make everyone have superpowers? At least there would be more action…
Kim: Yeah, I just thought it’d be more unique this way…
Tyler: Well, it IS unique. As in, it’s the single most-boring book I’ve ever read
Kim: I’m sorry, I guess… It’s my first book, so…

Tyler: I think it’s shit. I think a dictionary is much more entertaining. And at least you learn something.
Kim: I told you you wouldn’t like it!
Tyler: I know, but I didn’t think it’d be THAT bad… The characters feel like robots, the storyline is messy and the kids having superpowers? It doesn’t make any sense!
Kim: Of course not! It’s not supposed to make sense, it’s what make it a fantasy book. Anyway, next time trust me when I say it’s not for you but thanks for picking it up anyway!
Tyler: Will definitely do!

Kim had just finished her first book draft. While waiting for her coffee, she bumped into Tyler.

Tyler: Good morning Kim!
Kim: Hi Tyler, how is it going?
Tyler: Feeling great, you?
Kim: Yeah, all good, a bit nervous about the interview today, but I always get like this.
Tyler: Ahh you got it, don’t worry about it
Kim: Thanks! And hey, have you had a chance to finish reading the draft?
Tyler: Actually, yeah I finished it a couple of days ago
Kim: So? What do you think?
Tyler: I think you did a great job.
Kim: But did you like it? Do you think it’s any good?
Tyler: Oh! No… I’m the last person you should ask. Fantasy books make me feel I’m wasting my time but guess what?
Kim: What…?
Tyler: I showed it to my brother. He loves fantasy, he’s 34 but you should see his place, it’s full of figurines and posters from movies and books like yours. Anyway, he really liked it, he mentioned that it had an indie vibe that he’s never felt before in a fantasy book and he loved the combination.
Kim: Oh… nice
Tyler: Yeah!
Kim: But you don’t think it’s that good, don’t you?

Tyler: I think you did a great job.
Kim: Thank you, I really appreciate it, especially coming from you
Tyler: I mean it. And you know what?
Kim: What?

Kim: Wow, thank you!
Tyler: Actually, I think you two guys should meet, he seemed very excited about it and I’m sure he can give you better feedback than me.
Kim: I’d love that! I’d really like to know what he thinks. And I could bring a bunch of copies for his friends.
Tyler: Yeah, I’m sure he’d love that! Let me call him.
